2 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga
Highlight overview
The overnight Sahara desert trip should be on everyone’s Morocco bucket list. Marrakech desert tours 2 days are designed for visitors who do not have enough time in Morocco. But I still want to spend at least one night in the desert.
The 2 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga includes camel riding across the Erg Chebbi dunes, viewing the sunset from a high dune, listening to Berber music around a campfire, and resting in a luxurious camp beneath the stars.
The first and second days of the Marrakech desert tour include a lot of driving. As a result, it is highly recommended that you go for the Marrakech desert tours 3 days instead, so that you may split the journey to the desert.
Trip itinerary
DAY 1: MARRAKECH – MERZOUGA
We will begin your private 2 days tour from Marrakech to Merzouga by collecting you up early in the morning from your hotel/riad. Leave Marrakech and head to the Merzouga desert. Drive through the High Atlas Mountains’ breathtaking vistas. We’ll pull over here to take in some of the gorgeous scenery. After that, we continue driving. We’ll stop for lunch on the way and then continue on to our final destination.
Arrive in the afternoon in Merzouga. Our camels will be waiting for us here to take us across the Erg Chebbi Dunes to our desert camp. We’ll stop along the way to watch the sunset from a high dune. Then continue your camel trek. The personnel at the camp will escort you to your individual tent, where you can shower and rest. The camp staff will ignite a campfire after a nice dinner. Then, have a seat around the fire while we play drums and sing to you.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA – MARRAKECH
It is now highly encouraged to get up early in order to see a beautiful sunrise. After a delicious breakfast, we will depart the camp in a 4×4 vehicle for the town of Merzouga. Then we’ll begin our journey back to Marrakech. We’ll make a few stops along the route, including one for lunch.
Stop for some images of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah from the outside. Since 1987, the fortified village has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s also a popular destination for film makers. Many films and television shows filmed portions of their productions in the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Benhaddou has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including The Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. Arrive in the late afternoon in Marrakech and drop you off at your riad.
