On the first day, you will leave Fes and drive to Merzouga, stopping along the way to see the picturesque town of Ifrane and the Atlas Mountains. In the evening, you will embark on a camel trek into the desert dunes, where you will enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal and the sunset.
On the second day, you’ll get up early to enjoy the dawn over the desert dunes. After breakfast, you can take a camel ride, 4×4 trip, or quad bike tour across the Erg Chebbi dunes and visit a nomad camp. You will return to your camp in the evening for another typical Moroccan supper and bonfire.
On day 3, you will return to Merzouga by camel and check out of your hotel. Then you’ll head to Ouarzazate, stopping along the road to see the Todra Gorge and the town of Tinghir. When you arrive in Ouarzazate, you will check into your hotel and have some free time. In the evening, you can pay a visit to the Ouarzazate Film Studios, often known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.”
On the fourth day, you will leave Ouarzazate for Marrakech. You will stop along the way to see the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and the Telouet Kasbah. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech, depending on your request.
Trip itinerary
Day 1: Fes to Merzouga (450 kilometers)
Your tour begins in Fes, where you will meet your driver and guide. Following that, you will go on a magnificent journey across the Atlas Mountains, stopping along the way to view the breathtaking scenery and quaint communities.
Ifrane, noted for its Alpine-style buildings and cedar forests, will be your first destination. You can stroll through town, visit the Lion Head Rock, or simply relax at one of the many cafes.
After lunch, you’ll continue on to Merzouga, a little town on the outskirts of the Sahara Desert. You will check into your accommodation upon arrival and have some time to unwind before your camel trip.
You will board your camel and ride towards the desert dunes in the dusk. Enjoy the sunset over the sand dunes and the solitude of the desert night as you ride.
When you arrive at your camp, you will be welcomed with a traditional Moroccan dinner and a bonfire. After dinner, you can relax under the stars and listen to your guide’s stories.
Day 2: Tour of the Merzouga desert
You’ll get up early this morning to view the dawn over the desert dunes. You will go on a desert trip after breakfast. You have the option of going on a camel ride, a 4×4 trip, or a quad bike tour.
The Erg Chebbi dunes, one of the largest sand dune regions in the Sahara Desert, will be explored during the camel ride. You will also go to a nomad camp and learn about their way of life.
The 4×4 excursion takes you to the Khamlia settlement, famous for its Gnaoua music, and the Hassi Labied oasis. You will also have the option of going sandboarding.
The quad bike excursion will take you across the Erg Chebbi dunes and the adjacent desert environment.
You will return to your camp in the afternoon and relax. You will have a traditional Moroccan supper and a bonfire in the evening. After dinner, you can stargaze and enjoy the desert’s solitude and quiet.
Day 3: Merzouga to Ouarzazate (300 km)
After breakfast, you will return to your hotel on your camel. After that, you will check out of your hotel and head for Ouarzazate.
You will stop along the journey to see the Todra Gorge, a beautiful canyon with towering rock formations and a running river. You will also have the opportunity to explore Tinghir, which is famous for its palm groves and kasbahs.
When you arrive in Ouarzazate, you will check into your hotel and have some free time. In the evening, you can pay a visit to the Ouarzazate Film Studios, often known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Many notable movie sets, like Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia, may be found here.
Day 4: Ouarzazate to Marrakech (200 km)
After breakfast, you will depart Ouarzazate for Marrakech.
You will stop along the journey to see the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most famous tourist destinations. You will also be able to see the Telouet Kasbah, a historic palace that was once home to the Glaoui family, one of Morocco’s most influential families.
You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport in Marrakech, depending on your request.
